Aeromedical Simulation
The learning objectives are developed to facilitate learners to determine correct priorities and enhance operational assignments. The scenarios may be used individually or in multiples for competency verification. The cases provide learners with an opportunity to practice and evaluate their ability to complete a quick physical exam and assessment prior to transport, organize information provided to make treatment decisions, and prioritize current interventions to facilitate immediate transport. Students will be able to demonstrate their ability to manage patients in an interfacility setting as well as on scene as backup to first medical contact. Included with each scenario is a list of suggested readings designed for educators to supplement their training sessions. The scenarios are designed for all modes of prehospital transport including EMS ground ambulance, hospital transport, rotor wing aircraft, and fixed wing aircraft.
These scenarios have been used for:
- Maintenance of Certification
- Pre-employment Evaluations
- Formative Evaluations
- Summative Evaluations
- Just in Time Training
Each scenario contains:
- All associated ICD 10 codes for each patient encounter
- All pertinent radiology, laboratory and media files
- A robust and complete patient history
- Full color pictures of physical exam findings
- Sample dialogue
- Suggested readings
